Whitney Bauck is an award-winning climate and environment journalist.
She currently serves as print editor at the climate and culture magazine Atmos and is a contributing writer on food systems for the Guardian. She has also reported for the New York Times, the Financial Times, Bloomberg, the Washington Post, Grist, New York Magazine, MIT Tech Review, Rappler, Slate, Vogue Philippines, and more.
Whitney was previously a fellow at the Solutions Journalism Network and the Metcalf Institute, and was a 2024 Covering Climate Now award winner. She’s also sought-after public speaker who’s emceed conferences of over 1400 people, delivered keynotes, and moderated countless panels at venues like New York Climate Week, Princeton University, Georgetown University and more.
When she’s not at her desk working on stories about climate solutions, farming, transit, waste, or culture, you can find Whitney going on mushroom walks with her local mycological society.
